Ultrasound

An ultrasound is a safe, painless imaging test that uses sound waves to create pictures of the inside of your body. It’s often used to check on pregnancy, organs like the liver or kidneys, or other soft tissues such as blood vessels or muscles. A technician places a small device called a transducer on your skin, using a special gel to help it glide and get clear images. The test is done while you’re awake and usually takes 15 to 45 minutes. It does not use radiation and has no known risks. After the test, your doctor will review the images and explain what they show.

Individual Procedure

Individual procedures, like blood tests, each have unique prices and billing codes (like a CPT or HCPCS code). While they can be billed alone, they're usually grouped with other procedures on a claim. This grouping is what determines the total cost of your care.

Standard Service Package (SSP)

A SSP combines all medical services, materials, and fees associated with a healthcare visit or procedure into a single bundle to offer a more comprehensive estimate.
