This type of bronchoscopy uses a thin, flexible camera inserted through the nose or mouth to view the airways and lungs, then collects tissue samples from one or two nearby lymph nodes using a needle passed through the scope. This targeted sampling helps evaluate whether cancer, infection, or inflammation has spread to the lymph nodes close to the airway. The procedure is done under sedation, and most patients go home the same day. Results from the tissue samples guide further diagnosis and treatment planning.
